A Wedding Project That Changed Everything
Believe it or not, Melissa never planned on becoming a florist.
Before opening Bloom All Things Floral, she worked as an animal nurse. When it came time to plan her own wedding, she decided to save money by creating the flowers herself.
“I had absolutely no experience,” Melissa laughs.
She designed her own bouquet and centerpieces, expecting them to be simple. Instead, they turned out beautifully.
At the time, she simply enjoyed the experience. It wasn’t until a year later, while on medical leave, that something clicked.
After rearranging a floral centerpiece in her bathroom, she paused and thought:
“I should be doing this.”
With encouragement from her husband, Melissa took a leap of faith and launched Bloom All Things Floral in 2018.
More than seven years later, she says it’s one of the best decisions she’s ever made.
Blooming Through Life’s Darkest Seasons
Melissa’s business became much more than a career.
It became part of her healing journey.
She’s experienced health challenges, loss, and seasons where she felt like she’d hit rock bottom. Looking back, she sees her business as something that helped her grow through those difficult chapters.
“When I named the business Bloom All Things Floral, I didn’t even realize how much it would represent my own life.”
As she built her business, she says she was also building confidence, rediscovering herself, and learning to bloom alongside her creations.
That personal growth is reflected in every arrangement she designs.
Designing With Heart
Ask Melissa about her creative process, and she’ll tell you it isn’t something she carefully plans on paper.
Instead, she follows her intuition.
“I really get feelings as I’m designing.”
Each arrangement develops naturally as she works, allowing the flowers to guide the final design.

“I can translate feelings through flowers.”

Whether it’s discovering the perfect vintage book vase just weeks before a creative collaboration or stumbling across a decorative piece featuring flowers that perfectly matched her business logo, she says these little moments continually remind her she’s on the right path.
“I just get these little signs.”

One of Melissa’s favorite recent projects challenged her creativity in a completely new way.
During a collaboration with Queen Creek Insiders and The Bistro Queen Creek, she was given three unexpected words:
- Bookstore
- Coffee
- Rain
Using those prompts, Melissa designed a one-of-a-kind floral arrangement featuring:
- A vintage book vase
- Coffee-inspired neutral florals
- Cream-colored blooms representing coffee foam
- An umbrella with flowers “blooming” from the rain
- A handmade tassel inspired by a bookmark
- Shades of blue representing Arizona’s monsoon season
The final arrangement perfectly blended storytelling with floral artistry, demonstrating how Melissa approaches every creative challenge with imagination and attention to detail.
Family Behind the Business
Although Melissa is the creative force behind Bloom All Things Floral, she’s quick to credit her biggest supporter.
Her husband has been there from day one.
Whether he’s helping modify props for a floral display, building custom pieces for creative installations, or encouraging her newest business idea, she says his support has been invaluable.
“He’s always helping me with this business.”
